Global AM fungi are dominating mycorrhizal communities in a tropical premontane dry forest in Laipuna, South Ecuador

چکیده

Abstract Tropical dry forests are an intricate ecosystem with special adaptations to periods of drought. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) essential for plant survival in all terrestrial ecosystems but might be even greater importance as growth is limited due nutrient and water deficiency during the season. Ecuador highly endangered, studies about AMF communities scarce. We investigated community a premontane semi-deciduous forest South estimated diversity, distribution, composition study site based on operational taxonomic units (OTUs) compared results those from tropical montane rainforest páramo Ecuador. OTU delimitation was part small ribosomal subunit obtained by cloning Sanger sequencing. Nearly OTUs were Glomeraceae. The four frequent Glomus , comparison MaarjAM database revealed these globally distributed wide range ecological adaptations. Several shared virtual taxa Africa. Ordination analysis rainforests unique only few overlapping OTUs. Most that found both two continents .

Role of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal (AM) Fungi in Phytoremediation of Soils Contaminated: A Review

Pollution of the soil environment with toxic materials from fossil burning, mining and smelting of metalliferous ores, disposal of sewage, fertilizers and pesticides, etc. has increased dramatically since the onset of industrial revolution. Application of plants with ability of absorbing heavy metals is a low-cost alternative for eliminating soils from heavy metals. Phytoremediation uses plants...

Morphotype-based characterization of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal communities in a restored tropical dry forest, Margarita island-Venezuela.

The mycorrhizal component of revegetated areas after ecological restoration or rehabilitation in arid and semiarid tropical areas has been scarcely assessed, particularly those made after mining disturbance. We evaluated and compared the presence of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi of a small area of restored tropical dry forest destroyed by sand extraction, with a non-restored area of similar age,...

Propagules of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in a secondary dry forest of Oaxaca, Mexico.

Plant cover loss due to changes in land use promotes a decrease in spore diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), viable mycelium and, therefore, in AMF colonization, this has an influence in community diversity and, as a consequence, in its recovery. To evaluate different AMF propagules, nine plots in a tropical dry forest with secondary vegetation were selected: 0, 1, 7, 10, 14, 18, 2...

Influence of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in sugarcane productivity under semiarid tropical agro ecosystem in India

Impact of Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in sugarcane productivity was assessed through a field experiment from plant and ratoon sugarcane in Tamil Nadu, India. Control, 12.5 and 18.75 kg ha-1 of AMF along with 75% and 100% of phosphorous application were triedas treatments. 18.75 kg ha-1 AMF applied plots showed significant difference in germination percentage, tiller number, internode...
